Arrival by Car

At the Zentrum location, the Kollegiengebäude KOL at Rämistrasse 71, there are generally 3 designated parking spaces available. These parking spaces are accessed via Karl-Schmid-Strasse: From Rämistrasse, turn into Karl-Schmid-Strasse and after approx. 50 m turn left onto the gravel path (before the UZH parking garage). After approx. 100 m (past the fountain), the wheelchair parking spaces are located to the left at the end of the gravel path. If a fourth parking space is needed, parking is possible at the front side near the bicycle parking area. The parking spaces are not covered.Site plan KOL

Arrival by Public Transport

Tram lines 6 and 10 run directly from Zurich Main Station to the nearest stop, “ETH/Universitätsspital” (approx. 6 minutes travel time). Tram lines 5 and 9 run from Bellevue to the stop “Kantonsschule” (approx. 4 minutes travel time). Trams run every 2 to 6 minutes. Further connections can be found on the ZVV website. At the “ETH/Universitätsspital” stop, ground markings (waiting area) are provided. The distance from the stop to the main entrance of KOL is 230 meters. The steepest section of the route has a 6 percent incline. 

Accessible Entrance

The step-free entrance is located 50 m to the right of the main entrance when facing the building (ramp). At the end of the ramp, there are two sliding doors that open automatically. The entrance is only open during the general opening hours of the KOL. Site plan KOL

KOL-G-201 Aula (Lecture)

A step-free route to the room is available via the elevator, and the room itself is threshold-free. Wheelchair spaces can be arranged and reserved upon request. The auditorium is equipped with an induction hearing system (activated upon prior notice).

The area is step-free and can be accessed barrier-free via the elevator.

Nursing and Rest Rooms

In the main building, the nursing room (KOL-D-6c) is integrated into the rest room (KOL-D-06a)

Changing Tables

Changing tables are available at the following locations in the Zentrum:

• Building KO2, Room E-51, Women's toilet
• Building KO2, Room E-58, Men's toilet
• Building MEN, Room A-11, Men's toilet
• Building MEN, Room A-12, Women's toilet

Wheelchair-Accessible Toilets

Most wheelchair-accessible toilets at the University of Zurich are equipped with a Eurokey lock. To use these toilets, you need the universal “Eurokey.” Information on obtaining the key can be found at the websitewww.eurokey.ch. The Eurokey hotline is: 0848 0848 00

If you do not have a Eurokey or have forgotten it at home, a note on the door will indicate the nearest location where you can borrow one.

In some cases, toilets can only be opened with a special key. A note at the WC indicates where this key can be borrowed.
