Newly appointed professors and privatdozents usually get an opportunity to hold an inaugural lecture within a year of their appointment. The inaugural lectures offer a fascinating insight into the thematic diversity of UZH.
Inaugural lectures for professorships subject to the appointment procedure and externally funded assistant professorships are centrally organized by the Inaugural Lecture Team. Inaugural lectures for adjunct professorships and privatdozents are managed directly by their respective faculties.
Inaugural lectures are open to the public and free of charge.
